Empowering Educators with AI: Iidemic Project Hosts Training on HeyGen AI Video Generator

On 12 March 2025, the Department of Educational Communication and Technology delivered an intensive, hands-on training on the HeyGen AI Video Generator under the IIDEMIC project (EACEA-funded Erasmus+ CBHE), led by PI Dr. Adelheid Bwire with support from Drs. Marguerite Miheso, Mildred Nawiri, Beatrice Bunyasi, Priscilla Ndegwa, and Francis Mwangi; the session built practical capacity in AI-driven content creation—avatar generation, automated voiceovers, scripting, and rapid production of high-quality instructional videos—to enhance online teaching and engagement with minimal technical barriers. Through live, discipline-tailored exercises guided by Dr. Mwangi, faculty produced sample videos, signaled readiness to integrate HeyGen, and connected the effort to momentum from the 27–31 January 2025 Mombasa Joint Project Seminar with WSB partners, advancing IIDEMIC’s goal of empowering educators with inclusive, innovative digital tools for teaching and research.
