
Dr. Miheso-O’Connor is a researcher, trainer, and content developer for the ERASMUS K2-funded Inclusive and Innovative Digital Education for Migrant Communities (IIDEMI) project. A seasoned educator with 40+ years in teacher education, she specializes in Mathematics/STEM education, technology integration, and gender studies at Kenyatta University’s Department of Educational Communication and Technology.
She holds leadership roles in AFRICMA, ADEF, and represents Kenya at the International Congress of Mathematics Instruction (ICMI). Dr. Miheso has led grant-funded projects (USAID, HP Catalyst, PEER, ERASMUS) and collaborated with UNESCO, AU/ADEA, and VVOB on teacher education initiatives.
A Principal Investigator for the HP Catalyst Initiative, she has judged the X-Prize Global Learning Challenge and developed a Mathematical Knowledge for Teaching (MKT) assessment tool. A prolific author, she publishes on mathematics education, supervises graduate students, and serves as an external examiner.
Former Witwatersrand postdoctoral fellow, she designs math education materials rooted in historical contexts. Currently, she heads the Department of Educational Communication and Technology at Kenyatta University.
