
Dr. Beatrice Bunyasi Awori is a senior lecturer and a faculty member in the Department of Early Childhood and Special Needs Department at Kenyatta University. Her engagement is teaching, research and mentoring students. Her research interest focuses on hearing impairment, speech-language disorders and inclusive education for all learners with special needs. She has widely published in areas of special needs and inclusion. She has developed modules in related areas too. She is one of the researchers involved in the IIDEMIC project and has developed Module 1 and 2 on Introduction to Inclusive education and Developmental Milestones of Inclusion. She has worked as a team member in conducting desk research, collaborating and working closely with the project leader. She has widely published in international and local journals.
Dr. Bunyasi has worked with various international and non-governmental organizations including Erasmus+, DAAD and Save the Child International-Kenya. She has also worked as a researcher and monitoring specialist in Teacher Education and Professional Development, Kenya. She has been involved in the implementation of major projects including Speech and Language Handbook in Sub-Saharan Africa (SpeechBase) sponsored by DAAD in conjunction with Leibniz University-Hanover, Germany, Pretoria University (South Africa) Muhimbili Medical University, Tanzania and Kilimanjaro Christian Medical Centre, Tanzania.
