
Adelheid Marie Bwire is a former Head of the Department of Educational Communication & Technology and a Senior Lecturer in the School of Education, Kenyatta University. She teaches Instructional Design and Educational Technology, English Language and Literature Education and Research Methods. She is a National Trainer for the National Teacher Professional Development Programme. She has also worked as a Curriculum Development Consultant. Dr. Bwire’s research interests are in Teacher Professional Development, Early years and Adolescent Literacy, Language Teacher Education, Teacher Mentoring and Multilingual Education. Her most recent research work was her involvement in the MOCAT (Modern Competencies for Academic Teachers) Project to develop interactive online modules for capacity building for university lecturers. She is the current Project Coordinator and Principal Investigator of the Erasmus+ CBHE Project: “Inclusive and Innovative Digital Education for Migrant Community in Kenya and Somalia”. Her additional roles are to coordinate capacity development for faculty; coordinate capacity building for refugee teachers for re-tooling them on teacher professional development courses; organize seminars to sensitise and share their experiences among refugee teachers and disseminate results among stakeholders. She is responsible for preparing reports and sharing with the Advisory Body and university administration.
