The Bosaso engagement meeting was inaugurated with remarks from the Deputy Mayor of Bosaso, Mr. Bashir Farah Said, who emphasized the critical role of education in regional development. He expressed full support for the IIDEMIC project and highlighted the important of aligning the project with Somalia’s long-term socio-economic goals.
The event welcomed representatives from key stakeholders including international agencies such as UNHCR, and national NGOs like Tadamun Social Society and Puntland Youth and Social Development Association (PSA). These organizations, with their deep involvement in education for refugees and internally displaced persons (IDPs), contributed actionable insights to ensure effective implementation of the project.
Notably, school principals from both primary and secondary levels also participated. These schools employ the in-service teachers who are direct beneficiaries of IIDEMIC’s professional development efforts, making their perspectives invaluable to shaping the project’s direction.
