Dr Rose Shikuri is a lecturer and current Chairperson, Department of Nutritional Sciences at Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. She is a Commonwealth Scholar and an accomplished nutritionist, teacher, lecturer, and researcher. Her areas of academic and research interest include Food and nutrition security, Nutrition and disease, maternal and child health and promotion, nutrition in the life cycle, leadership studies and development. She teaches, supervises and mentors both postgraduate and undergraduate students. She has worked as a Home Science teacher for many years and a Head of Department Guidance and Counselling. She has also served as the Organizing Secretary and member of the board of directors, Forum for African Women Educationists Kenya Chapter (FAWEK). Dr Rose Shikuri holds a PhD in Leadership Studies, Food Security and Development from King’s College London in the United Kingdom, a Master of Science in Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics from Kenyatta University, and a Bachelor of Education in Home Economics from Kenyatta University. She is a researcher and project team member of IIDEMIC Project.
