
Dr. Jane Situma is a seasoned nutrition specialist with over 15 years of experience in clinical and community settings. Her expertise spans social determinants of health, program management, and capacity building. Dr. Situma is deeply involved in mentoring and supporting postgraduate students. Her leadership and contributions to both academic and practical nutrition interventions highlight her commitment to advancing public health and emergency nutrition. Her extensive experience in research, program management, and capacity building has made a significant impact in her field, especially in the area of nutrition for underserved populations. Dr Jane Situma holds a Doctor of Philosophy of Disaster Management and Humanitarian Assistance from Masinde Muliro University of Science of Technology (2010 to 2014), Masters of Science (Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics) from Kenyatta University, Nairobi (2004-2008) and Bachelor of Science (Foods, Nutrition and Dietetics) from Egerton University, Nakuru (1998 – 2003). She is a researcher and project team member of IIDEMIC Project.
